This hub facilitates seamless connection and shared liquidity for sovereign rollups and major Layer 1 blockchains like Ethereum and Solana. The network operates on a Proof of Liquidity (PoL) consensus mechanism, encouraging active participation.
The Sunrise network utilizes two primary tokens: $RISE and $vRISE. $RISE is primarily for passive yield generation and network security; it can be acquired and staked to a validator to earn consensus rewards and a share of protocol revenue. $vRISE is designed for active governance and protocol influence. It is earned by providing liquidity on the Sunrise Decentralized Exchange (DEX). Staking $vRISE, which is non-transferable, offers a share of protocol revenue, governance incentives, and voting power, with rewards automatically compounding.
All transactions on the Sunrise network, including staking and other operations, incur a small network fee. This fee is exclusively paid in $USDrise. It serves as the primary currency for covering transaction costs within the ecosystem. Users can obtain $USDrise by swapping various other tokens and stablecoins directly on the official Sunrise Application.
The combined supply cap for both $RISE and $vRISE tokens is 1,000,000,000. The network implements an initial inflation rate cap of 10%, which then gradually decreases by 8% annually. Inflationarily minted $vRISE tokens are distributed as rewards to stakers, validators, and delegators, serving as an incentive mechanism for network participation and security.
To stake, users need a supported Cosmos wallet, such as Keplr or Leap. They must acquire $RISE (available on centralized platforms or Sunrise DEX) or $vRISE (obtained by providing liquidity on the Sunrise DEX). Additionally, $USDrise is required for network fees. The staking process involves connecting the wallet to the official Sunrise App, navigating to the "Stake" tab, choosing between $RISE or $vRISE, selecting a validator, specifying the staking amount, and confirming the transaction.
Stakers of $RISE receive consensus rewards in $RISE and a share of protocol revenue, which need to be claimed manually. Stakers of $vRISE receive a share of protocol revenue and governance incentives, with their rewards automatically compounding. $vRISE stakers also have the option to instantly "Redelegate" to another validator. Users can manage their stakes and claim rewards from the "View Delegations" section on the "Stake" page within the Sunrise App.
