Hacash Diamond, commonly referred to as HACD, is a native digital asset and the first non-fungible token on the Hacash Layer 1 blockchain. Launched in May 2019, it represents a unique fusion of the Proof of Work consensus mechanism and the concept of digital collectibles. Unlike traditional tokens that are often generated through smart contracts, HACD is produced through a decentralized mining and bidding process that requires the consumption of physical energy. Each Hacash Diamond is identified by a unique combination of six letters. These letters are randomly selected from a specific set of sixteen characters, which creates a total theoretical supply of 16,777,216 unique diamonds. This finite supply is intended to give the asset scarcity similar to precious metals. The creation of an HACD involves a competitive two-step process. First, miners use computing power to find a valid diamond hash. Once a diamond is discovered, it enters an on-chain auction phase. To secure the diamond and include it in the blockchain, participants must place bids using the Hacash ecosystem's main currency, HAC. Only one diamond can be successfully minted approximately every twenty-five minutes, which limits the daily production. A significant aspect of this economic model is that ninety percent of the HAC used in a successful bid is permanently destroyed or burned, while the remaining ten percent is given to the block miner as a reward. HACD is often described as energy generative art. The project utilizes specific protocols to translate the mining data into visual representations. These protocols define the diamond's shape, color gradients, and brilliance, turning the cryptographic hash into a distinct piece of digital art. Because the mining difficulty increases over time based on the number of diamonds already produced, the energy required to create new ones continuously grows. Within the Hacash ecosystem, HACD serves multiple purposes beyond being a collectible. It is part of a three-token system designed to establish a sound monetary framework alongside Bitcoin and the Hacash currency. HACD acts as a high-value store of wealth and can be used as collateral for on-chain lending. Additionally, its unique six-letter identifiers can function as human-readable addresses for accounts on the Hacash Layer 2 network, simplifying the user experience for transfers and payments. The project is entirely decentralized, with no central team or initial coin offering, following a fair distribution model where every diamond must be mined and won through open competition.
