JEWEL serves as the central ecosystem token for DeFi Kingdoms. Its main functions include paying for transaction gas fees on the DFK Chain, participating in project governance by staking in the Jeweler to receive sJEWEL or cJEWEL, and purchasing major in-game assets such as Heroes and Land.
The maximum supply of JEWEL is capped at 125 million tokens, a reduction from the original 500 million limit implemented in late 2022. All tokens have already been minted, and the asset is designed to be deflationary as tokens are removed from circulation through various in-game burning mechanics.
JEWEL is the overarching governance and gas token for the entire ecosystem. CRYSTAL and JADE are 'Power Tokens' specific to different game realms: CRYSTAL is used within Crystalvale on the DFK Chain, while JADE is used in Serendale on the Kaia blockchain. These tokens are earned through liquidity mining and are required for gameplay actions like summoning Heroes.
Players can earn through four main methods: staking JEWEL in the Jeweler to receive a portion of decentralized exchange fees, providing liquidity in the Gardens, sending Hero NFTs on profession quests to gather resources for sale or crafting, and summoning new Hero NFTs to sell to other players in the Tavern.
Following its departure from the Harmony blockchain, DeFi Kingdoms now operates on two primary chains. The Crystalvale realm is hosted on the DFK Chain, which is an Avalanche subnet. The Serendale realm is located on the Kaia blockchain. Assets can be moved between these locations using the in-game Docks or supported bridging services.
This usually occurs because the player needs to update their wallet settings following the project's migration. Users must manually add the DFK Chain or Kaia network to their wallet and import the correct token contract addresses. Players with assets remaining on the legacy Harmony network must use the migration tools provided at the in-game 'Outpost' to move their assets to the current chains.
