This ensures that rewards are backed by tangible food production and the economic activity of the agricultural sector rather than just internal token minting.
Users earn rewards by staking and locking their LNDX tokens to receive xLNDX. This xLNDX represents the user's staked position and is non-transferable to prevent governance manipulation and ensure only committed, long-term holders influence the protocol. Users can lock their tokens for up to 48 months. Longer lock durations provide increased voting power and a higher share of the protocol's revenue, which is distributed in stablecoins derived from platform fees.
In April 2025, LandX executed a strategic buyback and burn of approximately 37.2 million LNDX tokens, which represented nearly 46.5% of the total supply at that time. This massive reduction was designed to eliminate the 'long-tail supply overhang' and improve the token's scarcity.
