Portal to Bitcoin (PTB) is a decentralized cross-chain infrastructure project designed to integrate Bitcoin with the broader Web3 and DeFi ecosystems. Its primary goal is to enable secure, non-custodial, and trust-minimized trading between Bitcoin and other blockchain networks like Ethereum and Solana. Unlike traditional methods that rely on wrapped tokens or centralized bridges, which can be vulnerable to security risks, Portal to Bitcoin facilitates direct peer-to-peer transactions where users maintain full control of their assets throughout the process. The core of the project is a proprietary scaling engine called BitScaler. This technology utilizes atomic swaps and modular architecture to settle transactions off-chain while maintaining finality on the Bitcoin network. By combining channel factories with Taproot and sophisticated policy scripting, BitScaler aims to improve transaction efficiency and significantly reduce fees associated with the Lightning Network. This infrastructure is intended to transform Bitcoin from a passive store of value into a programmable layer for decentralized finance. The ecosystem includes several key components. Portal OS acts as a modular operating layer that supports the Bitcoin mainnet and various Layer 2 solutions. The Portal Wallet provides a user-friendly interface for managing assets across different chains, and the Swap SDK allows developers to integrate the protocol's liquidity into their own applications. Additionally, the project features an AI-driven tool called RAFA, which provides intelligent suggestions for portfolio management and trading strategies. The PTB token serves as the native utility asset for the network. It is used to secure the system through validator staking and allows holders to participate in network governance. The token also functions as the medium for paying transaction fees within the protocol. The project follows a deflationary economic model where a portion of the fees generated from swaps is used to remove tokens from circulation, aiming to incentivize long-term participation and network stability. Portal to Bitcoin was founded by a team with extensive experience in blockchain and technology, including Dr. Chandra Duggirala and Manoj Duggirala. The project has gained significant support from prominent industry investors, including Coinbase Ventures, Arrington Capital, and OKX Ventures. Through its focus on self-custody and technical scalability, Portal to Bitcoin seeks to establish a new standard for trustless interoperability in the digital asset space.
